
Convenient Traffic and Transportation
With convenient transportation network combining waterway, landway and airway, Hangzhou Qianjiang Economic Development Area ensures sound logistics.
Road: The QJEDA is next to the 320 State Highway in the south and the 09 Provincial Road and the soon-opening Qiushi Highway in the west. It is about 19 kilometers of direct line distance to the central square of downtown Hangzhou city, which takes only 35 minutes drive. Shanghai-Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway and Hangzhou-Nanjing Expressway cross it. Twelve main roads run through the QJEDA. A convenient network of roads has come into being.
Railway: Shanghai-Hangzhou and Xuancheng-Hangzhou railways also pass the region, and it is about 9 kilometers to Qiaosi railway switchyard which is the largest one in east China, with a daily shunting capacity of 4000.
Airway: There are many roads leading to airports. It is only 2 hours’ drive from here to Shanghai Pudong International Airport, which has flights to 73 international cities and 62 cities within China. Altogether 48 airline companies are connected with the airport. Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, which is 35 kilometers away from the development area, is one of the ten largest airports in China. At present, it has developed 126 routes home and abroad reaching 59 cities. Four international routes (Hangzhou-Tokyo, Hangzhou-Osaka, Hangzhou- Singapore, and Hangzhou-Amsterdam) have been open, enabling it become the regional air hub which bases on the Yangtze River Delta, radiates the whole country and connects East Asia, Southeast Asia and Europe.
Ports: Shanghai Port is the largest comprehensive seaport where the exported and imported goods take up 2/5 to 3/5 of the overall export and import volume of China. Beilun Port of Ningbo is an excellent natural deep-water port, where the throughput reached 220 million tons in recent years, ranking second among the harbors in mainland. It is about 150 kilometers away from here to Shanghai Port and Ningbo Port, only 1.5 hour’s drive.
Future Transportation: The high speed magnetic railway between Shanghai and Hangzhou will be ready to use in this year. It will take only 38 minutes from Hangzhou to Shanghai. In addition, Qiushi Road is under construction. What’s more, the modern speedy subway Line One is planned to reach the QJEDA. The public transportation is going to be perfected.
